Year working: 1920 - 2002
Wolstenholme is best known for his railway illustrations and poster work for British Rail. Through his close association with Ian Allan he also illustrated some of their motoring books. However, his work was far wider than just the transport theme. He was born in London in 1920 and it was through his cartoons and illustrations during the war he became a freelance illustrator. His technique is principally line art with scraperboard. Like many illustrators his work was overtaken by photography and computer generated imagery. He died 2002 in Watford in relative obscurity.
