Peacop James

Year working: 1945

James Peacop is the artist whose work has been used by the Light Car and Edwardian Section of the Vintage Sports Car Club for the menu of the dinner at the Welsh Weekend. It seems difficult to believe that his art has been used from 1975 to 2025 without fail. These cartoons and sketches have been of varios types but mainly including activity for the diners such as 'spot the difference', 'find items beginning with a letter', 'quiz' even to 'build your own Austin Seven'. In 2025 a book was published detailling the 50 cartoons over the years. The title is given below. He also illustrates his correspondence with little sketches.which are a delight to receive. He was brought up the North of England where he attended Art School leaving with a qualification in Graphic Design. His first job was for the Daily Express in London after he moved to Liverpool with an advertising agency. Later he co-founded the Mouldsworth Motor museum which closed in 2013 after 40 years in operation.
