Year working: 1930-50's

Have seen two examples of works by Field. Whether they are the same person is debatable. The first courtesy of Paul Pennell is 1936 and signed S FIELD and is taken from an Autocar magazine. The second is a front cover design of 1953. The signatures on both pieces is a bold capital FIELD albeit the ealier one has an initial S. Since there is 17 years between them is it possible they are the same person?
