Crosby Jim

In 2023 I was contacted by a man trying to sell this airbrush painting of an Austin Loadmaster lorry . It is the original artwork for the front cover of an Austin Commercial sales brochure produced in the 1950's. It was by his uncle Jim Crosby who was employed by Austin as a graphic artist principally for his airbrush skills. He later left Ausin to be employed by Birminham School of Art to teach airbrushing illustration. The work is not signed and is probably one of a number of such works produced by Crosby as there are several similar sales brochures of different Austin vehicles .
